Among the activities of the Diocesan Historical Archive, there are courses for parish archivists. These courses are designed to help parish priests and their collaborators to conserve documents correctly. The courses began at the behest of Monsignor Pesenti in 1998 and continued for four years thanks to the collaboration of the “Nicolò Rezzara” Cultural Centre. They are intended to raise cultural awareness and provide necessary know-how for the management of parish archives.

The same objective is also pursued by new editions (2009-2012): material produced during the meetings was made available for free consultation on this site. The latter includes a special section named FORUM, which was designed to encourage debate on issues affecting archivists and suggesting solutions to difficulties encountered in archival work.

Since 2010, a group of qualified archivists has also been formed to help in the task of reorganizing and rearranging parish archives. This team, after verifying the status of parish archives, is now available for parishes wishing to employ an archivist or reorganize their documentation through membership of the CEI-ar project.
